Julianna Margulies Joins Paradise Season 3 As Series Regular...

Emmy-winning actress Julianna Margulies has officially joined the cast of HBO's hit drama Paradise for its upcoming third season, the network confirmed Friday. The Good Wife star will play a pivotal new character in the critically acclaimed series, marking her first major TV role since The Morning Show.

Margulies' casting comes as Paradise prepares to begin production next month in Los Angeles. The show, which follows a group of wealthy families entangled in a tropical resort's dark secrets, has become one of HBO's most-watched dramas since its 2024 debut.

The news sparked immediate excitement among fans, with #MarguliesParadise trending on Twitter within hours of the announcement. HBO executives called her addition "a game-changer" for the series, which has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Margulies, 59, brings star power and award-winning credibility to the ensemble cast led by Oscar Isaac and Vanessa Kirby. Her character, described as a "mysterious philanthropist with dangerous connections," will debut in the season premiere expected this fall.

The timing coincides with renewed interest in Margulies' career following her recent Tony-nominated Broadway performance. Industry analysts note her casting could help Paradise compete with Netflix's The Crown during awards season.

HBO released no further details about Margulies' role or episode count, but sources confirm she signed a multi-season deal. The network plans to reveal more at its upfront presentation to advertisers next week in New York.

Paradise showrunner David E. Kelley said in a statement: "Julianna brings exactly the intelligence, depth and unpredictability this story needs as we expand the Paradise universe." The series averaged 12 million viewers per episode last season.

Margulies' last regular TV role was on Apple TV+'s The Morning Show, for which she earned a 2022 Emmy nomination. Her return to HBO marks a homecoming of sorts—she starred in the network's landmark medical drama ER from 1994-2000.

Fans can expect the first teaser featuring Margulies' character during HBO's House of the Dragon season finale in June. Paradise season 3 will reportedly explore new locations beyond the resort, including scenes shot in Hawaii and Singapore.
