Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Production Delayed Due To Supply Chain Issues...

Chevrolet has announced another delay in production of its high-performance Corvette Z06, frustrating eager buyers and dealers. The automaker confirmed the setback late Friday, citing ongoing supply chain disruptions affecting key components.

The 2026 Corvette Z06, featuring a 670-horsepower flat-plane-crank V8, was originally slated for full production this spring. GM spokesperson Kevin Kelly stated the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant will now prioritize existing Stingray orders before resuming Z06 assembly in late May.

This marks the third delay for the Z06 since its 2022 debut. Enthusiast forums and social media erupted with complaints from customers who placed deposits years ago. Some dealers report cancellation rates climbing above 15% as impatient buyers seek alternatives.

The delay comes during peak sports car shopping season and impacts approximately 3,200 pending Z06 orders nationwide. Automotive analysts note the setback could cost GM millions in lost sales and damage the Corvette's hard-earned reputation for reliability.

Chevrolet dealers confirm they're receiving daily calls from anxious customers. "People saved for years for this car," said Miami dealer Carlos Mendez. "Every delay makes them question whether to wait or buy a Porsche or McLaren instead."

GM executives emphasize the delays stem from quality control, not labor issues. The company promises to update reservation holders directly as new timelines are confirmed. Industry watchers suggest the situation reflects broader challenges facing performance car manufacturers in the post-pandemic era.
