Cameron Young Parts Ways With Longtime Caddie Ahead Of Masters...

PGA Tour rising star Cameron Young has split with his longtime caddie, Paul Tesori, just days before the 2026 Masters Tournament. The unexpected move has sparked speculation among golf fans and analysts, as Young prepares for one of the sport's most prestigious events.

Tesori, a veteran caddie who previously worked with Webb Simpson, had been on Young's bag since 2022. The duo saw immediate success, with Young earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2022 and notching seven top-three finishes. No official reason was given for the split, which was confirmed by both parties on social media Tuesday.

The timing is particularly notable as Young, currently ranked 12th in the world, heads to Augusta National as one of the favorites. He finished tied for seventh at last year's Masters and has been in strong form this season. Tesori's experience at Augusta—where he caddied for Simpson's 2012 victory—was seen as a key asset.

Golf analysts suggest the change could either disrupt Young's rhythm or provide a fresh perspective. "Paul brought stability during Cameron's rise, but sometimes players need new voices," said Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee. Young has tapped veteran caddie Mike "Fluff" Cowan as a temporary replacement for the Masters.

The news trended nationally as golf fans debated the impact on Young's championship chances. Social media reactions ranged from concern over the timing to optimism about Cowan's veteran presence. Young tees off Thursday at 10:42 AM ET alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Will Zalatoris.
